Non-canonical volume-form formulation of modified gravity theories and cosmology

A concise description is presented in the basic features of formalism non-canonical spacetime volume forms and its application modified gravity theories cosmology. The well-known unimodular theory appears as a very special case. Concerning hot issues facing cosmology now, we specifically briefly outline construction of: (a) unified dark energy matter manifestations single material entity—a scalar field “darkon”; (b) quintessential models universe evolution with “inflaton”-assisted dynamical Higgs mechanism—dynamical suppression/generation spontaneous electroweak gauge symmetry breaking “early”/“late” universe; (c) unification diffusive interaction among them; (d) mechanism for suppression fifth force without fine-tuning.
